St Patricks Day - A Writers Craft Journal

St Patricks Day

By Neev Wallis

29 November Twenty-Ten

It was only natural that the duo spend their Irish St Patricks day in the Park. The pair collapsed to the grass, which appeared more lusciously green than the Saturday previous they had spent there. Kat seated herself beneath the Yaoi Tree, and removed her black fairy wings. Neev herself remained standing, in desperate attempts to make her miniature kite fly. Her pink wings fluttered and her hula skirt flew with the light breeze. She cried out with every failed attempt to make the – not broken! – kite fly. This was how their new friends found them.

Keith bore a shining baton, which rattled with every swing at Darren’s head. Batman’s hoodie was stained with green hairspray. This green would soon stain Kat’s hoodie also.

Almost as to be expected, without the strength of Erica, whose lateness was clearly problematic, a war was raged over the baton...

Kat was faced with two 6 foot + men, holding her already broken weapon with a facade of bravery.

Batman launched. Darren dived. Keith laughed.

Soon, Batman had her pinned, and Darren emerged, baton held proudly in his fist. Despite his prize, Keith declared Batman victorious, with the glorious statement “He’s rolling around with a hot girl.” His decreed was met with unanimous agreement.

Darren, Keith and Neev began plotting. Batman, in his suspicion, began pelting the trio... with Kats shoes. The prime opportunity presented itself. Darren climbed to the top of the Yaoi Tree, and Neev passed the Converse to the highest point, far above Kats head. With a pout, she sent her faithful minion, Batman, to retrieve them. At a height of 6’5, he reclaimed them with ease. If only the police had not arrived. With a warning against tree climbing, the group sat in shame... that was totally fake. Thankfully, Erica arrived in time to watch the skangers Budweiser poured to the ground, and to harshly discipline the men.

Keith went for a walk so he wouldn’t ruin the moment.

Curiouser and Curiouser....

Alice in Wonderland. I am so obsessed with Alice In Wonderland, I cannot even express how much I adore the whole deal. The Disney version, the Tim Burton version, the original Lewis Carroll, which I am currently reading... the whole package is made of brilliance. I have been planning a big poster montage of the Disney cast I hope to draw at some point. I originally meant to draw it over the Winter break but I only got the movie on my computer at the end of the break and I simply haven't had the time. Eventually though...

So it's Friday, and school is finally back on Monday. Kat and I spent a fantastical week in Ireland - yes, Kat came with me, it was decided on the Wednesday, we left on the Friday, it was amazing. The week was so much fun, we did the Viking Splash tour, and the Ghost Bus, both of which were great fun. On the first day, we met up with Drew, Cat and Michelle, and about 10-15 poeple we had never met before. The night ended after Drew, Cat and Michelle left at 7, and we were in McDonalds until 11 pm with 6 boys we had never met in our lives. So much fun. Kat hooked up with a guy, who we fondly refer to as Batman Hotstuff, who was from Malahide (Kat: teehee, Formaldehyde)

He added his name to my phone as Hot Stuff... and later in a phonecall, I proclaimed my joy at having talked to Batman on the phone. 'Cause I'm random like that. His real name is Eoin. No one seems to know his last name.... I'm still wondering where exactly this kid came from.. (well Malahide, obviously, but he has no last name.... creepy)

HERM St Patricks day was a lark. Didn't get to see much of the Parade, I think I saw Cat in her costume, but I'm not sure. Kat and I were much too short. We met up with Batman, Keith, Darren and Erica. Yes, that's right - I knew NONE of these people before Saturday. But I kind of love them. Cat and Michelle didn't meet up with us, and I was dissapointed. n

I saw Trinity twice, once with my cousin, and once with my mother. The Trinity local admissions office is so unhelpful! Kat took one look at the city, one look at the university and decided "so. we are going to go here together."

Then we went around some shops and planned our apartment. Kind of excited to graduate.

We were hoping to work in Ireland this summer, but my mam decided I don't need to work this summer, because we are going on a family holiday "somewhere really special"... I hope its America. Kat wants me to go to Canada with her for Canada Day. I want to so bad, but at the same time, I would prefer to go to Ireland for Q Con and other events in June. Like BURAKU - the movie that Gackt is in that's due out in June. I don't even care I HAVE to see it.

While I was in Ireland, I saw Alice, Shutter Island and I Love You Philip Morris.

I Love You Philip Morris = pretty good, even though it is Jim Carrey, Ewan McGreggor was GAHMAZING. So funny, but I could NOT believe it was based on a real story.

Tim Burtons Alice in Wonderland = More Amazing Than Words.

Shutter Island = Too Shit for words. Seriously. Worst Movie of All Time. Could have been Good, but it failed. The ending almost redeemed the film, but then they added that STUPID REPETITIVE MUSIC and I almost cried. Kat almost killed the entire cinema from annoyance over the stupidity of that movie.

Friday went out with Conor, Tom, Kat and Cat. T'was epiccccc. Went to the cinema, then Conor and Cat left and Kat, Tom and I went bar hopping... without leaving the building. We found a bar, traditional Paddy bar, where we were told that a drink would be cheaper downstairs. So we went downstairs to this deserted chic bar with David Bowies face plastered on the wall. We went up to the counter, where we were told that this drink would be even cheaper still if we went down this small corridor. So we did, because we are cheapskates, and found... a heavy metal bar.

Let me reiterate this. There was 3 completely different bars in ONE building, and we kept being sent somewhere else for a cheaper drink, instead of them just taking our money.

So, I personally hadn't planned on drinking. I had no money. But Kat did. And she had me split her drinks. Wasn't much, just a couple of Guinness. But I haven't drunken anything in a WHILE. So... I got a liiiitttleee drunken. Just a wee bit. Might have made out with Kat.... 3 times. Possibly. Tom was overjoyed.

It was an incredible trip overall. I miss everyone again, and I'm disappointed about the friends I didn't get to see. I didn't see my girl, circumstances beyond my control, and there were other friends too. Jade tried to get me out for a drink or two but didn't happen. But the trip was so much fun.

Now I am waiting for the weekend to end and go back to school =/ I have so much work to do, but every time I have sat down to do work I just couldn't. Not impressed.

But I did read the Kite Runner in a day. Which was aweshum.

And add album art to my iTunes. Because that was so worth my time.

Laterzz.

Throw you're cameras in the air, and wave them like you just don't care

Fall Out Boy - totally stuck in my head right now. Which is hilarious concidering I can only listen to Goo Goo Dolls right now for the whole month- My English teacher dared me.

I am in English class right now actually. I'm pretty bored, because we are discussing Brave New World, and I am making enough points to get the marks for paying attention, but not really listening to everyone else. I have read this book a few times already, and I partically hate it, but i partically like it too. Its fascinating and my teacher just brought up, oh my gawd, Aldous Huxley was so ahead of his time! 1930's, look at this shiz in this book! this was written before the TV!!! Well, around the same time, BUT STILL. The way that people are born is disgusting though. And I hate it. =D

HMMM. I've gotten really into doing school work in the last few days >.> I've been tearing though my assignments and getting them done, it's great! I'm quite pleased that I'm not having to freak out during lunch and in class to do the assignments, and I've not been late. On the other hand, I'm still quite late finishing them, like the night before. AND I've been doing the group assignments on my own. So long as we are getting good grades, well I guess that's fine but eeeehhhhh. Still. Not great. Tonight I will be doing yet another group project on my own, for Writers Craft. It's supposed to be me, Kat and Maxi, but they haven't finished their articles for the paper yet, and my Editorial isnt gonna be til a little later because I haven't dont it yet. So yea whatevs. =D

Niamh: GET OFF OF SKYPE
Kat: ... i can see your screen.

YAWN.

HMMM. I played some World of Warcraft after I worked yesterday, and I leveled up, and I was so tierd after because I only ment to talk for a half an hour (after I shook Phil off on Skype) but I ended up playing for 2 hours >.<>.< If I dont decide to work on my other things, like the video for Jamboree or finally update my FMA story. HMM.

Anyway, I think thats enough for now. English is over and we are in Law and Kat thinks I'm being lame for blogging in class. so. BLEH. <3 I loove her anyway.
